The VSC Performance STI Test Car (a.k.a. The “Test Mule”) was born from the need to properly validate new products and concepts for the VSC Performance product line.  The Test Mule helps fulfill the VSC Performance mission to ensure every product offered has the proper street time before it is released to market. 

While most VSC Performance products are born from our motorsport heritage, those racing components are often not meant for a street tuner build and need slight updates to make them just right. This might mean making a component more robust in order to last longer, or less complex to make it more affordable. These adaptations are enough to physically change the part, requiring it to be validated again on the VSC Performance STI Test Car.

Shortly after purchase we chose to update the powerplant with a Type-RA bottom end.  The new engine was built by our team who properly set the piston ring gaps to ensure reliable performance.  

Travis Pastrana has been known to take the Mule for hot laps. It makes plenty of reliable power and still has potential for more and as Pastrana can attest, is a hell of a lot of fun to get sideways in.
