Martell to Race His First Tarmac Rally!
Conner Martell & Alex Gelsomino will be participating in the 55th running of the Rallye National des Monts Dôme! This will be the first true “Tarmac” rally for Martell as his career so far has consisted of all Gravel events. Monts Dôme is a single day event featuring three beautiful stages, run three times for a total of nine stages over the course of the rally. Based around the city of Thiers, this rally is particularly special as it is home to Martell’s team 2C Competiton. The duo will be returning to the Skoda Fabia Rally2 which they competed in earlier this year for the French Gravel Championship.
Martell had this to say about the event :
“I’m really excited to gain experience on Tarmac at this event! So far all of my competitive rally has been gravel events so this will be something different from the norm. Its also an added bonus that this is the home rally for my team 2C Competition. I’m pretty honored to have the opportunity to represent both the United States as well as 2C in France for this event. The weather looks pretty mixed and theres a good chance it will be a rainy event but these factors are what make Rally racing so unique and unpredictable”.
