2021 Ojibwe Forests Rally Preview

Date: Aug 27-28, 2021
Location: Northern Minnesota

It’s rally week! With Subaru Motorsports USA drivers Travis Pastrana and Brandon Semenuk sitting first and second in the 2021 American Rally Association driver’s championship standings, the series moves to the Minnesota lake country for Ojibwe Forests Rally. Semenuk and co-driver John Hall are fresh from a second-place finish at New England Forest Rally which vaulted them back into podium position in the title chase, while Pastrana and Rhianon Gelsomino return to defend their Ojibwe win from 2020. The Open Class field is packed with talent and the action will be fast and thrilling!

Travis Pastrana #199 Subaru WRX STI
“Ojibwe is statistically the strongest rally of the year for me. Twisty roads with sandy dirt which makes it more forgiving for aggressive driving. The team also did an amazing job getting my car back together after my crash in New England! Of course I will be driving hard and hoping to come away with my 7th win at Ojibwe, but we don’t need a win to stay in the championship lead while everyone else does need to win to keep up with us. So the pace should be ballistic and we need to be there at the end and take what we can get.”

Brandon Semenuk #180 Subaru WRX STI
“Ojibwe is one of the my favorite events of the calendar, it offers a great mix of roads and if you read the surface right you can enter some corners a lot faster because of the sandy grooves formed in the road. John and I are back up to second in the championship now but there are lots of fast guys right behind us, so we’re going to need to be on pace right from the start.”
