Conner Martell Doubles Up in Canada; Wins Both ARX2 Rounds at Trois-Rivières Doubleheader!

Colchester, Vermont – August 6th, 2018: Rising American rallycross driver Conner Martell swept the ARX2 doubleheader in Trois-Rivières, Canada with two spectacular victories. Martell entered both the ARX2 series races and, with a separate car, entered the RX2 International Series as well. He nearly made it a hat trick, with an impressive drive in the the RX2 races wherein the final he attempted a pass for the lead but clipped a barrier, halting his run.

The 21-year old Vermont native, had a long and physically demanding weekend juggling driving duties between two race cars and two series.
“When I first decided I would race both RX2 and ARX2 over one weekend (nearly 100 laps), I did not really think about how much physical and mental endurance it would take. Looking back at the weekend now after winning two ARX2 finals I can say this was hands down the most difficult weekend of racing I have ever competed in.”

For the first ARX2 race Martell earned pole position in his Dirtfish Rally School prepared ARX2 car which lead to a comfortable win in the Final. Day two would show a completely new set of challenges for Martell. During his qualifying races in both ARX2 and RX2 he found himself locked in tight battles and needing to make passes in order to advance to the Finals. In the RX2 Final Martell attempted a pass for the lead but ran out of room and hit a tire wall, ending his run. In the second ARX2 Final Martell put in a heroic drive, battling for the lead and eventually making a spectacular pass to take the win, thrilling the thousands of fans in attendance.

“It was such a great weekend in Trois-Rivières, I couldn’t be happier to take home two wins in a doubleheader weekend and be able to show the pace we did. Huge thanks to my two teams; Dirtfish Rallyschool’s ARX team and Team Faren’s RX2 squad.”

Martell will now regroup and set his sights on the next RX2 international series race in Loheac, France on September 1-2 where he will pilot his Team Faren maintained RX2 car.
