Lars was drawn to rally from an early age. Barely tall enough to see over the wheel, he convinced his dad it was okay to practice handbrake turns during snowstorms in a Renault 14. His love of rally grew deep and led to meeting Lance in the 90’s. While attending business school at The University of Vermont, Lars started working part time for Vermont SportsCar. The first computer was bought, websites were made and photos were taken – millions in fact – all of Subaru rally cars.
Lars was the Subaru Rally Team USA photographer for the better part of two decades, while gradually taking on additional challenges and responsibilities. He spearheaded the design and construction of the new headquarters in Milton, a three year project that fulfilled Lance’s dream of creating the most state-of-the art rally prep shop in the country. “What are you going to do when this building is done?” Lance asked. The answer, as it turns out, was to assume the position of COO. After four years in this role, Lars decided to shift to the role of Senior Consultant in order to make more room for adventuring in his life.
In this role, Lars strives to mature the organization and prepare it for the coming decades of motorsports and other business ventures. If it can be done, he will figure out a way to make it happen. Lars loves the arctic, adventure and mountain biking – combining all three in an epic 100 mile winter fat bike ride in Alaska a few years ago – and has close to a thousand hours under his belt piloting helicopters across North America.
