Subaru Motorsports Looks to Continue 2024 ARA Success at Dirtfish Olympus Rally
Coming off back-to-back first place wins to start the 2024 American Rally Association (ARA) season, the Subaru Motorsports USA team of driver Brandon Semenuk and co-driver Keaton Williams is in Shelton, Washington for the April 20-21 running of this year’s Dirtfish Olympus Rally.
The Semenuk/Williams WRX ARA24 will be the only one seen carving up Washington’s great outdoors this year. Legendary Subaru Motorsports USA driver Travis Pastrana will miss the action as he undergoes further treatment for a damaged hip and to aid in recovery following a knee replacement late last year. Decades of record breaking, jump landing, and sliding sideways through every imaginable terrain have been punctuated by a string of injuries for the action sports icon.
The first of a two-event Pacific Northwestern swing on the ARA calendar, the Dirtfish Olympus Rally is a course that favors endurance and adaptability. Known for often-shifting weather conditions and always featuring some of the longest stages on the ARA schedule – Nahwatzel for example, where stages 7 and 8 will be run this year, stretches nearly 23 miles long. Driver Semenuk lays out the challenges: “Although slippery, narrow, and often lined with obstacles best avoided. Olympus Rally offers up some of the best rally roads throughout the ARA season. With increased mileage this year, attrition could significantly impact the outcome. Excited for the challenge and the opportunity to be racing close to home again!”
Semenuk isn’t the only Subaru Motorsports USA team member thinking of home heading into race weekend. “Olympus is the closest I get to the Welsh forests,” says co-driver Keaton Williams, adding that it’s also “one of our strongest events on the calendar & equally one of the busiest from my side, but eager to carry this year’s momentum & bag big points!”
Travis won’t be missing out on any updates from the race April 20-21, and you won’t either by following Subaru Motorsports USA on Facebook, on Instagram @subarumotorsportsusa, and TikTok @subarumotorsportsusa.
