Subaru Motorsports USA Picks Up Championship Trail at Southern Ohio Forest Rally

June 4, 2024 – After a wild weekend at this year’s Oregon Trail Rally, the 2024 American Rally Association (ARA) Championship season enters its second half with the Southern Ohio Forest Rally (SOFR), June 6-8. The Subaru Motorsports USA teams of double-champion driver Brandon Semenuk and co-driver Keaton Williams, and extreme sports icon Travis Pastrana with co-driver Rhianon Gelsomino will be looking for a return to form after mechanical issues from an errant rock kept both from podium contention at the Oregon Trail Rally. “After a short break,we’re back to racing! SOFR presents a unique challenge in our season, with its tricky, twisty roads, and the heat and humidity. Here’s hoping for a drama-free event!” Said Brandon Semenuk.

Fans will be thrilled to see Pastrana and Gelsomino once again tackle the SOFR – their first time since 2022 and an encouraging sign in Pastrana’s ongoing injury recovery this year. “Ohio is a twisty and fun rally with some fast tarmac sections that keep you on your toes. A lot of motocross racers and rally enthusiasts in the area come out for the event so it’s one of my favorites on the circuit for sure!” A history of rally racing dating back to the 1960s and an interesting mix of racing surfaces makes the Southern Ohio Forest Rally a fan favorite event on the ARA calendar. A unique element of the SOFR is the Yoctangee Street Stage that kicks off the event Thursday evening, running through downtown Chillicothe, OH. From Friday on, stages are set among the tight gravel and tarmac forest roads that demand precision as well as speed from drivers who seek success at the SOFR.

As Semenuk and Williams continue their quest for a third straight ARA championship, Pastrana and Gelsomino are in pursuit of an event win during their first season back in ARA since 2022.
