Subaru Motorsports USA Teams Chase ARA Championship at Overmountain Rally Tennessee
Johnson City, TN – After picking up their first win of the 2024 American Rally Association (ARA) season at the Ojibwe Forests Rally, Subaru Motorsports USA driver and extreme sports legend Travis Pastrana and co-driver Rhianon Gelsomino have set the table for an exciting back half of the 2024 ARA calendar. Their pursuit of two-time defending ARA champions and Subaru Motorsports USA teammates Brandon Semenuk and Keaton Williams continues at the 2024 Overmountain Rally Tennessee September 13-15.
“Excited to have a new rally on the circuit and look forward to what I hear is a very challenging and technical event,” says Pastrana. Previously run as the Bristol Forest Rally, a springtime ARA Super Regional event, Overmountain Rally Tennessee comes to the ARA National schedule for the fall. New stages will test drivers’ abilities over the gravel roads of East Tennessee’s Cherokee National Forest with multiple locations where spectators can take in the action. And with Pastrana and Gelsomino having a path to the ARA championship following the Ojibwe Forests Rally, there promises to be plenty of action.
A focused Semenuk says: “New rally, same goal. Excited for the challenge that Tennessee brings to the calendar, but the mission stays the same — aiming for maximum points to seal the ARA Championship.”
“This is a must win for Rhi and I to keep any hope of a championship alive,” says Pastrana. “Our teammates have had our number all year but maybe these new roads will help equal the playing field. Game on.”
A new event is on the ARA calendar and the championship is in contention; there’s going to be a lot to keep up with over the weekend of September 13th .
